| You think you can subject me to tummy time? |
Watch this!
Oh this is harder than it looks!
Phew!
Who's the king of rolling over?
The rolling over from back to front was an accident (see above mention of hating tummy time). He was on his side already, and just rolled on over. He has tried to replicate the move a couple of times because he was trying to get closer to the cat, but he hasn't quite mastered that skill yet.
And then tonight he sat up on his own, with no assistance, for a full 10 seconds. I looked around for someone to tell, but (one of the drawbacks of being single) no one else was there. I have plenty of people I could have called or texted, but we were in the middle of getting ready for bed. And then I did talk to Heidi and my sister after that and forgot to tell either one of them. How is it possible to be so excited about something one second, and then completely forget about it the next?
Vagus just jumped in my lap, and I noticed one of his claws looked a little funny. They're all much longer than usual, and I have tried repeatedly over the past year to clip them because of that, but he wouldn't let me. He doesn't usually, but this past year he's hissed and bit at me whenever I've tried. Tonight I noticed that one of his claws is growing into the pad of his foot! There's a big clump of litter on it, which is why I noticed it in the first place. I can't believe I never saw it all the times I tried to clip his claws this year, but that's probably why he's been so violent whenever I've tried. Poor Vagus. I bet his limping is all from his foot, too, and not arthritis, like I thought it was.

Awww he is so freakin cute. His face in the second photo cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteYay Finn!
ReplyDeleteAw! That seems quick to be rolling over but then again my kid was a little slow on everything because she hated to try. One day, she just did stuff. She HATED tummy time. I have the crying, wailing pictures to prove it. Finn looks like he's enjoying the new movement. Congrats on the big milestone!
ReplyDeleteHope Vagus is feeling some relief soon. Poor little guy.
That look of determination on his face is priceless. And my gosh, how advanced you are Finn - sitting up on your own already! (ok maybe it was just once, and just for 10 seconds, but it counts). He is just too cute for words Shannon.
ReplyDeleteYeah Finn!!! What a great milestone! There's no stopping him now! That last photo he looks like he's saying, "ya, I'm awesome"!
ReplyDeleteHe's so precious and growing, growing, growing! Great pictures!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of pictures.
ReplyDeleteYah for rolling over! Finn is adorable as usual. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for Vagus, I would recommend taking him into the vet to get his nails trimmed. Hopefully there's no infection. I forget, is Vagus a long haired kitty? The same thing happened with my friend and her long haired kitty; the long fur made it difficult to see the nails properly. With my past kitty, he loved getting his nails clipped and would purr away but with my current boys, I have to sneak in and do it when they're sleeping. And the kitty burrito never works as they squirm out of it.
Hooray for Finn! It must be so much fun watching him reach these milestones.
ReplyDeleteYay, this is so exciting.. next he will be sitting independently.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! My Scarlett hated tummy time too. As soon as she learned to roll from her tummy to her back, there was to be no more tummy time. And so now, at 9 months, she's finally okay with being on her tummy and is just starting to get ready to crawl, while her peers are moving all over the place. They are their own independent people...they decide what they like and what they don't! Keep the pictures coming!
ReplyDeleteI love that little man.
ReplyDeleteYay! Way to go, Finn!
ReplyDeleteHope Vagus can get relief soon.
Love the second picture! Oh, I think I can do this, oh my gosh there I goooooo. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!
