I just took my trigger shot, and my IUI is scheduled for Thursday at 9am - CD 12. Also not leaving me feeling very optimistic that it's a day earlier than my last IUI. But I'm going to try to stay positive and hope for a BFP in about 2 weeks!
When I was trying to get pregnant with Finn, it seemed like everyone around me was pregnant. And then when I had my miscarriage, it seemed like everyone around me was getting pregnant accidentally. I had to count on both hands the number of accidental pregnancies that I found out about during those few months between my miscarriage and my BFP. I remember mentioning that to LB (the friend who accidentally got pregnant a few weeks after my miscarriage), and she said, "That's just because you're hyperaware, and noticing it more. It happens around you all the time, only you don't usually notice."
Since I'd been thinking about getting pregnant for years, I wasn't too sure that was true. Nope, it seemed like the universe was conspiring to make me crazy. So I decided to make sure I paid attention to the number of accidental pregnancies I heard about after Finn was born, just so I could prove her wrong. I counted one - a patient that I saw for the first time for her gestational diabetes.
In the past two weeks I have had 4 friends tell me they were unexpectedly, accidentally pregnant. Four.
It is true. The universe has nothing better to do than drive me crazy. Of course I'm happy for them, and it was definitely easier at dinner tonight be able to smile and gush over the two pregnant bellies I did not expect to see that it would have been two years ago. But still. Four. Really?

Wow! There do seem to be a tremendous amount of babies lately! Best of luck with your upcoming IUI!!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are surprised two weeks from Thursday!! I feel the same - in the last few months since our loss, I have heard of more accidental pregnancies than I can count! I am definitely happy for them but sad at the same time knowing I should be with them enjoying my big pregnant belly right now. Wishing you the best!
ReplyDeleteAll the best!!!!
ReplyDeleteI too see way too many other pregnancies (accidental or not) right now for my peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the IUI on Thursday! Maybe you're next in line to become pregnant.
ReplyDeleteThere are currently three pregnant ladies at my workplace, after years of no pregnant bellies. It's definitely not me just being hyperaware about it. *sigh*
Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteThinking good thoughts for you!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe all the preganancies are the universe's sign that this will be the lucky cycle... Just like last time. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing as obernon! Maybe it's a sign that you will be joining them again this time too :)
ReplyDeleteHoping all goes well tomorrow and wishing you the best during this next 2ww!
omg, i'm nervous along with you! we delivered so close together and there you are, back in the saddle... i'm still far from it.
ReplyDeletewishing you luck and that yours is one of the recent spate of pregnancies!
Wishing you sticky baby dust with your IUI on Thursday. I think we are also more sensitive when we are trying and/or recovering from a loss. We want to share in the joys of our friends but it just reminds us of our own struggles and losses. Hopefully you will be quick to conceive and stick!
ReplyDeleteHey - two good follicles is all you need! I am wishing you luck! It's hard seeing people around us get pregnant easily (and accidentally), but it's a fact of life. And the bottom line is - we all wish we could be just like them ;)
ReplyDeleteTwo good follicles! Woot! (It doesn't only take one...) Good luck!
ReplyDeletePraying for you. Today was your IUI, and I hope that this 2WW goes by like a flash.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that when you are smack in the middle of TTC and going through an IUI, IVF or just a regular medicated cycle there always seems to be an abundance of those that are "accidentally" or unplanned pregnant.
That seriously happens to me too. My best friend is pregnant accidentally right now with the same due date I would have had if mine had worked. sigh. I am thinking of you!!!!!!!!!
