I have no idea how I had time to post and comment on other blogs so much when Finn was a newborn because wow, I don't have any time now. My wonderful friend Jennie got here last Thursday and has been a great help, but it's still overwhelming these days. Sleep deprivation, eating every 2 hours (both me and Zachary), a grumpy toddler and then ALL of us with colds this last week...the newborn phase is hard. I keep trying to savor it, to enjoy the sweet moments - the squishy baby sleeping on shoulder, the sweet smell, the soft skin, the first smiles and coos - but I'm still looking forward to getting through this period. I just wish the end of this period didn't coincide with going back to work.
This week's pictures continue to be snapshots, mostly with my phone. I'm still aiming for pictures with my good camera, but not this week! It's still fun to capture little moments during the day; as someone mentioned on a prior post, sometimes the only way to capture those moments is with a phone.

Oh no -- the colds sound miserable! It looks like there have been sweet moments, too, even if things are a bit of a blur right now. (I'm smiling at "family snuggle time"!)
ReplyDeleteThat's a darn good pic by a 2-year-old!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch great pics. I especially love the one by Finn, and fingers and face, and the one in the stroller. Oh, and family snuggle time. They're all great! I seriously hate that maternity leave is so short, and that it really does end right when it gets even a tiny bit easier and a lot more fun. This country needs to get it together!
ReplyDeleteStay positive. Try to enjoy life, not get through it. I hate to say it but once this "difficult" period is over, there will be another one around the corner. That's life. The kids need you positive and cheerful. Be the change they need.
ReplyDeleteNewborn phase & colds all around? Poor you!! Love the photos!!
ReplyDeleteOh no...colds all around. Hope you are all doing better, Love the pics!
ReplyDeleteLove the squishy face and fingers!
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, Finn did a great job with his photo!
Hoping life settles down sooner than you fear!
Love the picture by Finn and the Family Snuggle. You are doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteI barely survived that phase. (I thought I would love it and was highly distressed by my reaction to it!) Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these snapshots with us. Great pictures and Finn may just have a future in photography. :)
Oh my gosh, the size difference of them in the stroller! I hope everybody is feeling a bit better now!
ReplyDeleteThe newborn phase is the most difficult time. I have no problem saying I hated it! I love my daughter. But boy did I hate that newborn stage.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures!!!! Been thinking of you, but haven't had time to check in on your blog, so it is so great to catch up with you and your munchkins!!! :) sleep deprivation is the worst coupled with the nonstop demands of little ones and a cold…..you are in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great. I love that you are taking and sharing all these photos too, my favourite here is the stroller one. My blog reading tonight makes me thankful for the healthcare and mat leave that we get I the UK and AU too, such a shame you have to go back to work so soon.
