This morning I woke up to a very clean house, with everything in order. I came home to this - Construction Day 1:
The railing is down and the framing is up, along with all the plastic sheeting they’re using to protect my stuff. They took the scaffolding and zip walls (I think that’s what they’re called – they’re using those in addition to the plastic sheeting to protect the rest of the house) with them, which I didn’t expect, but am grateful for, since it means a little less mess in the evening.
So far everything is on schedule – but it’s also only CD 1. My parents have already booked a hotel room for Christmas, just in case the construction isn’t done on time. Not because they mind the mess, but because it’s awfully hard to pull out the sofa bed when my dining room table is in the way (they had to put it somewhere).

yay! go, construction, go! I love seeing that kitty scampering down the stairs in that second pic :D
ReplyDeleteWow! It's going to be an enclosed room soon. Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a welcome CD1!!! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I'm betting your new room will be done before mine ;) But then again I'm running on a Dad's love and broken knee to get mine done, so I can't really complain (at least not to him!)
ReplyDeleteWhoo hoo to getting things rolling and to completion soon!
How very exciting to get started with your renovations! It must feel wonderful to have things underway. I have been planning some for a long, long time myself (my architect is lovely but completely unreliable!). Good for you with your Angel Tree adoptions also, what a great idea. How sad that 6y/o children would only be asking for clothing :(
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good...glad things are going well!
ReplyDeleteThat kitty cat running down the stairs is too funny! This is the only CD1 I want to have for the rest of my life! I can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteLove the title of this post!
ReplyDeleteLooks like things are off to a great start! It's going to look amazing when it's done (can't wait to see pics!) and you will have plenty of time to decorate before your little man arrives in May.
The title is very punny :-) I'm glad you're getting everything in order during the second trimester. Who knows what the third will hold!
