But in the two days since the time change, Finn has fallen asleep (easily!) at 7:30 pm. I'm not sure what's so different - why it is that he falls asleep so easily the past two days - but it's wonderful. We cuddle, he falls asleep and I put him down and can come downstairs and get work done. I hate giving up the time with him that we had before...but I'm also loving the extra time. And feeling a little guilty for enjoying it so much.
But the big news this week is that Finn started solid food this week! Nanny M stayed a little late to help, and to video the whole thing. The rice cereal wasn't much of a hit - but after a few tries, it seems to be growing on him. I have a whole post about baby food to come, but tonight I'm going to take advantage of my free time and read some blogs.

So cute! His first solid food, and he is ready to take over the spoon and feeding himself!
ReplyDeleteI love it - thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteOMG - he is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I love his facial expressions! Looking good Finn!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. How on earth do they know what to do when you give them food for the first time?
ReplyDeleteHis face with the first bite on the video is priceless! SO cute!
ReplyDeletelook at those cheeks!
ReplyDeleteJust give me a day or two, he looks like the type of boy that is going to like his meals! :) We put Mac to bed at 7:30 too and while I wish I had more time, he's SOOO much happier getting a solid 12 hours of sleep per night.
ReplyDeleteShannon, the solids might have something to do with his sleep changes. At least many moms say that...
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty for enjoying your Finn-free hours in the evenings. His sleep schedule will change SO many times as he's growing, and there will be patches that makes life easier and harder, depending. Enjoy (and exploit!) it while you can!!!
The year that LG first gave up her nap and slept from 7:00 to 7:00 (or sometimes 6:30 to 6:30) was BLISS. But that followed on the heels of a year she wouldn't sleep at night, I couldn't get work done, and we were both crabby...
Love it! Love the chewing and confusion. Like he can hear from your voice it's a big deal, but he doesn't quite know why.
ReplyDeleteYeah solids!
ReplyDeleteI expected the time change to be challenging but was pleasantly surprised
I hope the 7:30 bedtime continues. You'll have to let us know.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with others, the rest is well-deserved. And he looks like a solid-foods kind of guy, so I bet he is feeling more full and happy with solid foods. What a sweetie!!! Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteLea

ReplyDeletewhat a handsome fella!
calliope sleeps a TON and i'm sad that i'm grateful... but also, it makes our time together really good because we are both well rested.
